Measure · Stage 07
Corrective &
recurrent training.
Targeted training that closes specific performance gaps, and scheduled refreshers that keep the standard current — each followed by reassessment.
Two Purposes, One Standard
Closing gaps.
Keeping standards current.
Corrective training responds to evidence: an audit finding, a gap analysis, an assessment result or a recurring event. It is narrow, specific and followed by reassessment.
Recurrent training is planned: periodic refreshers that keep service, operational and behavioural standards current as crews, aircraft and passengers change.
Inputs that trigger corrective training
- Cabin Operations Audit or Follow-Up Audit findings
- Gap Analysis results
- Practical Assessment ratings below standard
- Recurring incidents or passenger feedback
An Important Distinction
Supplementary, not regulator-mandated
What EDAERO does not replace
Initial and recurrent training required under an operator's approved training programme — for example safety and emergency procedures training — remains the operator's responsibility and is delivered under its own approvals.
EDAERO's corrective and recurrent training is consulting-led, supplementary training focused on service, operational coordination and professional behaviour, aligned with the operator's procedures.
Areas of Intervention
How gaps are closed
Corrective training after findings
Short, targeted modules addressing a specific finding.
Individual development plans
Objectives, actions and a reassessment date per crew member.
Targeted competency improvement
Focused practice on the criteria not yet met.
Refresher training
Periodic updates on standards, procedures and service changes.
Scenario-based exercises
Realistic situations that rebuild judgement, not just knowledge.
Performance reassessment
Observed reassessment against the same criteria.
Documented outcomes
Training and reassessment records for the operator's files.
Continuous improvement
Recurring gaps fed back into documentation and training design.
Methodology
A closed loop: gap, train, reassess
Identify the gap
From findings, assessment or performance data.
Plan
Individual or group plan with objectives and timeline.
Train
Targeted, practical, scenario-based.
Reassess
Observed against the original criteria.
Expected Deliverables
Outcomes on record
Scope-dependent; often scheduled as part of an annual recurrent plan.
- Individual development plansPer crew member where required.
- Corrective and refresher modulesDelivered against defined objectives.
- Reassessment resultsConfirmation that the gap is closed, or the next step.
- Training outcome recordsFor the operator's training files.
Operational Benefits
What changes
in the operation
- Gaps closed and evidenced, not just discussed
- Standards that stay current between audits
- Fair, specific development for each crew member
- Recurring issues fed back into the system
Who It Is For
Designed for
operators
For operators acting on findings and maintaining standards over time.
- Private jet operators
- Aircraft management companies
- Corporate flight departments
- Operators following an audit or assessment
Frequently Asked Questions
Before you enquire
Does this replace our recurrent training requirement?
No. Where the operator's approved programme or applicable regulations require recurrent training, that requirement stays with the operator's programme. EDAERO's recurrent sessions supplement it on service, operational and behavioural standards.
Is corrective training disciplinary?
No. It is development targeted at a specific observed gap. How results feed into any HR process is the operator's decision.
How often should service-standard refreshers run?
Commonly annually, or when standards, aircraft or passenger profiles change. The interval is set by the operator.
