Measure · Stage 08
Cabin performance
monitoring.
A practical way for management to see whether improvements are holding — a small set of defined indicators, collected consistently and reviewed on schedule.
What Monitoring Provides
Seeing the cabin
without being on board
After redesign, documentation and training, management needs to know whether the standard is being delivered mission after mission. Performance monitoring turns that into a small set of indicators with clear definitions, owners and review dates.
The framework is built around the operator's priorities and data that can realistically be collected — not a large dashboard nobody maintains.
What is monitored
- Service consistency and passenger feedback
- Crew readiness and training completion
- SOP implementation and documentation compliance
- Corrective action progress
- Incident and occurrence trends

| Indicator | Definition | Source | Frequency | Example target |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cabin readiness at boarding | % of missions where the cabin readiness checklist was completed before passenger arrival | Preflight checklist | Monthly | ≥ 95% |
| Catering accuracy | % of missions with catering delivered as ordered | Post-flight report | Monthly | ≥ 97% |
| Passenger preference application | % of missions where recorded preferences were applied | Post-flight report | Monthly | ≥ 95% |
| Training currency | % of cabin crew within the operator's recurrent interval | Training records | Quarterly | 100% |
| Corrective action closure | % of actions closed by target date | Corrective action log | Monthly | ≥ 85% |
| Post-flight report completion | % of missions with a completed post-flight report | Report register | Monthly | ≥ 98% |
| Cabin occurrence reports | Number of cabin occurrence reports, reviewed by type | Reporting system | Quarterly | Trend reviewed; reporting encouraged |
| Passenger feedback | Qualitative and, where collected, scored feedback on cabin service | Owner / client feedback | Quarterly | Reviewed; actions logged |
Illustrative indicators and targets. Final indicators and targets are set by the operator.
Operational Challenges Addressed
Why improvements fade
No measurement
Management learns about problems from passenger complaints.
Too much data
Large dashboards that are built once and never maintained.
No review rhythm
Data collected but never discussed or acted on.
Methodology
Few indicators, reviewed consistently
Select indicators
Six to ten indicators tied to the operator's priorities and findings.
Define
Definition, data source, owner, frequency and target for each.
Collect
Templates built into existing forms and systems.
Report
Concise periodic management report.
Review & act
Scheduled review; actions logged and tracked.
Reporting Tools
What is provided — and what is not
Clear scope
Provided: indicator definitions, data collection templates, a management report format and, where scoped, periodic EDAERO performance reviews. These work in the operator's existing systems or in structured spreadsheets.
Not provided: EDAERO does not supply performance-monitoring software or a hosted dashboard as part of this service. Where an operator wants a digital dashboard, EDAERO can define its requirements for the operator's own systems.
Expected Deliverables
A monitoring framework
you can run
Scope-dependent: framework set-up only, or set-up plus periodic reviews.
- Indicator setDefinitions, sources, owners, frequency and targets.
- Collection templatesIntegrated into existing checklists and reports.
- Management report formatOne to two pages; trends, exceptions, actions.
- Periodic performance reviewsWhere scoped, prepared and presented by EDAERO.
Operational Benefits
What changes
in the operation
- Management visibility of cabin performance
- Early warning when standards slip
- Objective evidence for owners and clients
- Corrective actions tracked to closure
Who It Is For
Designed for
operators
For operators that want evidence that improvements are holding.
- Private jet operators
- Aircraft management companies
- Corporate flight departments
- Operators after redesign or training
Frequently Asked Questions
Before you enquire
Do we need new software?
No. Monitoring is set up in the systems and spreadsheets you already use. EDAERO provides the indicator definitions, collection templates and report format.
How many indicators should we track?
Usually six to ten. Enough to see cabin performance clearly; few enough that the data is actually collected.
Who prepares the reports?
Either the operator's team, using the templates, or EDAERO under a periodic review arrangement. Many operators start with EDAERO-prepared reviews and then take them in-house.
